Clearfield Area United Way

UNITED WAY MISSION: To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Why should I help?

Clearfield Area United Way supports local health and human service agencies that provide many different types of programs that meet the many needs of our community. Some of our United Way Member agencies respond to emergency needs such as disaster response and homeless shelters: some address literacy, family and individual counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, safe daycare and handicapped services. Our local libraries and youth programs such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts build character and enrich our community. To review our current member agencies, click on “WHO WE HELP” in the list of links to the left.

Agencies who apply for grants often have local funding as matching local funds. United Way dollars not only make a difference in the level of services available but can count as matching funds for grants. Therefore, your donation is multiplied and makes an even greater impact!

Why is giving through United Way the most efficient method of donating?

Fundraising costs for United Way are kept low because of the number of volunteers, both serving on our Board of Directors and serving on the annual Campaign. Because of their generous donation of time and talent, United Way is extremely efficient, and your dollars support our local area in order to make the greatest COMMUNITY IMPACT.

The greatest source of Clearfield Area United Way support is workplace giving, where employers lead employee campaigns with corporate gifts, and encourage support of United Way through payroll deduction.

Does United Way only do fundraising?

Clearfield Area United Way remains busy rear-round partnering with out local agencies to address critical issues. It collaborates with other community partners to plan for future community needs, recruits and trains volunteers, and serves as an information and referrel service to put people in touch with the services they need.

Our volunteer Board of Directors provide guidance and accountability in order that Clearfield Area United Way is able to address “What Matters” in our community.
